Wow, I wish I had discovered this website and forum earlier (I’m new here today). This is so interesting to read—thank you all for sharing your experiences, I really appreciate it. I am learning a lot from this forum.
As for me, I was diagnosed late in life (after many burn-outs at work) when I finally met a doctor who was smart enough to actually run some tests before judging me. That was when I was diagnosed with AuDHD. I finally got answers as to why. Before that, doctors told me I was “too sensitive” or “too emotional,” and I was often told I had too much empathy.
But is it really too much empathy when you simply believe that all people should be treated with kindness, respect, fairness, and equality? For me, that is common sense and should be “normal” from one human being to another. Period.
