Yes, possible to message people without a friend request. Sent a few myself, it works.

The reason for the blind friend invites is two reasons.

Reason one. When you first join and open a profile, that + sign next to the photo looks like you click that to expand to see more pictures. When, in fact it just sends a friend invite. When I first joined, thought that’s what the + sign was, display more pictures. I friend requested a person or two out of the gate for sure. If it was labeled “Send friend request” That would for the most part resolve it.

Reason two. Scammers. If you run in to those, please name drop them to me in a message. I’m only here to play with those people specifically. I take them on a wild time wasting journey they never forget. It brings me joy, lol.
